What a precious petrin this is! It is made so you can knead your dough on top and then put it inside (lifting the lid)to rise. If you perchance buy your bread instead, this piece makes a great entry piece or wall piece under a painted and maybe filled with blankets or family games. I love the thin "skirt" around it.
