This is a Bronze Statue signed Fulconis from the mid to late 1800's (Eros with falcons). It is most likely a re-cast, and it is in very good condition.
Louis Guillaume Fulconis 1818-1873
H=21 1/2
This magnificent antique French patinated bronze statue is of Eros with his bow pointing to the heavens. The bow’s string was broken long ago ; however, it does not detract from the beauty and artistry of the piece as a whole. It is signed “Fulconis” on the quiver holding his arrows, meaning love, which is to the right of his feet. The flaming torch, meaning, setting one’s heart on fire, is to the left. There are two falcons perched next to the torch.
