These beautiful garden urns are not antiques, but they have an aged finish which makes them really stand out. They were purchased in the South of France, and they exhibit many of the colors which you associate with Provence.

Anduze- is a small, quaint  town in the south of France. There have been potters working there for centuries, and they have spread a pottery style throughout France ("Anduze French Pottery") which began in the 1500s when terra cotta began to emerge as a material for many artisans. From the 1500s through the 1600s, it was difficult to make Anduze pottery. Because of the expense of these pots, only the noble class could afford them; and they were traditionally used in people's gardens. "Vases d"Anduze" spread to merchants and other better-off families after the French Revolution. Other Anduze pot owners included greenhouse owners and horticulturalists
