Carved French Petrin

A simple and elegant French petrin, hand crafted from a beautifully patinated solid oak with a burl walnut inlay. Carved floral and shell decor, cabriole legs and a drop front. The petrin was originally used to knead dough. The cover lifts down for ease of use and closes while the bread raises. Today, they are used as unique decorative pieces to add charm to any room. 36W x 17D x 28H" Circa 1870 and in fantastic condition.
