Rare American Regina Disc Music Box

An exceptional rare original example of the much sought after handpainted Rookwood serpentine console cabinet 15-1/2" disc music box by Regina. This music box has a short bedplate and double comb movement to deliver a rich and full sound. The exquisite cabinet features double doors, cabriole legs and several handpainted scenes on three sides along with the top of the lid, featuring a courting couple, romantic landscapes and floral garlands. Regina manufactured this limited edition Style 40 console model music box with beautiful paintings on the cabinet for only a few years. Several models were advertised as being in the Rookwood style, but few of this model were actually produced. This rare music box comes complete with 12 discs and a one year warranty, circa 1900.
