Magnificent pair of Corner Cabinets from France 18th Century

Magnificent pair of Corner Cabinets from France 18th Century.

You are viewing a magnificent pair of commissioned, French, 18th C. walnut wood corner cabinets with their original marble tops. * The demi-lune fronts have been hand carved and formed out of one solid piece of French walnut wood.  The anchor was used in nautical themes as well as an early Christian symbol of hope and steadfastness.  There is a cornucopia with bunches of grapes, pomegranates and flowers, torches and a double ringed staff, all hanging from a deeply wrinkled knotted bow with a button.  There is a variety of symbolism in various categories of ornamentation.  These corner cabinets display what was important to the family who commissioned them.
*The dimensions on each are different from eachother because they were commissioned for a particular room, making them all the more interesting. These are rare, high quality cabinets with a beautiful patina that only walnut wood can get after approximately 250 years.

Condition: Minor nicks, rubs, age separations, old wormwood all commensurate with age.
