A pair of early 19th c. English or American ball top fireplace andirons. This pair retains the original iron billets with cabriole legs with spurs ending in snake feet. They have been cleaned and lacquered. They also have the left and right brass galleries and matching log stops also in brass. This pair are are known as lefts and rights as they flare to fill in the fireplace opening. The andirons have been hand polished and treated with conservation lacquer, which can be easily removed.
