18th Century Aubusson Tapestry Fragment from Flanders

This beautiful verdure tapestry fragment from France depicts floral and foliate motifs in deep greens, light greens, creams, tans and browns.  Once a part of a larger tapestry this fragment also has border fragments at the top and bottom of the panel featuring scrolling acanthus leaves.  All three are bound by two colored linear borders. The materials are silk and wool.

Condition:  New backing;  minor horizontal weaving separations.
