An Oil Painting Illustration of Thomas Edison, James Calvert Smith

This is a beautifully detailed original oil painting by the artist James Calvert Smith (1878-1962). His technique is superb and his use of glowing light well-conceived. This piece is in a perfect state of preservation, and is unlined, with later gilt frame we have made for this picture. James C. Smith belonged to the Society of Illustrators, the Salmagundi Club, and was a cover illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post, Collier's, and other magazines.
