A Burled Walnut Queen Anne Dressing Table, England, c.1760

This is a late Queen Anne dressing table, as evidenced by the claw and ball feet, which is a harbinger of the Chippendale form that emerges later in the 18th century. Tthe walnut on the top and drawerfronts are crotch mahogany crossbanded by herringbone walnut. This table, interestingly, retains its original highly desirable open-faced brasses and is in fine condition.

The scale of this dressing table is of good size (31 inches), and makes a commanding presence. The legs are beautifully sculpted and the apron beautifully formed. The drawers etc. are all original, as are the brasses.

Height: 29 1/2 in. Width: 31 in. Depth: 21 in.
