Pair of Classical Carved Mahogany Side Chairs, New York, c.1800-1810

These chairs retain an old probably first surface, and have large well-developed carved crest panels (see detail). These chairs have beautifully reeded stiles and have a backsplat of interesting semi-circles meeting with a carved oval rosette panel. The legs are in the French style, and we have reupholstered the seats with a Chinese style fabric. These chairs are in perfect condition throughout.
