This oval tavern table has a characteristic New Hampshire turned leg and has the usual two board top of solid maple and a very nicely notched apron (which many of these tables do not). For comparison, note another table of this form, which is slightly larger, with splayed legs (see sw00943). While many of these tables have had hard lives, and consequently receive restorations and replacements to the top, etc., this table is completely original, only showing signs of limited natural wear on the top due to many years of careful use in, obviously, a caring home. The maple in this table has some striping and figure, with a beautiful deep maple color.
