Exceptional set of twelve classical carved mahogany dining chairs, with curved stiles supporting a paneled crest with inset crotch mahogany veneers, above a pierced acanthus leaf and scrolled carved horizontal splat, with slips seats and raised on raking sabre front legs and raking rear legs. New York, circa 1820-25. Rich cuban mahogany with dense grain and fine color. Some typical repairs.
